Ohio Life Science Training Center to Be Based in New Albany International Business Park
The Ohio Life Sciences Association (OLSA) and JobsOhio announced the selection of New Albany International Business Park as the location for the newly named Ohio Life Science Training Center. The news came following the statewide announcement in September 2025 of an investment of up to $30 million in a biomanufacturing workforce initiative.
The life science industry employs 18,000 people in central Ohio and 64,000 across the state, according to an OLSA spokesperson, who added that this investment is intended to support Ohio’s capture of the $500 billion-plus biomanufacturing domestic investment pipeline and the industry’s commitment to growing 3,300 Ohio-based jobs over the past five years.
The statewide initiative represents a collective effort to align public and private partners to invest in the future of Ohio’s workforce ecosystem. As part of the initiative, the City of New Albany has agreed to help support the generational opportunity with a $5 million investment over five years for the development of the training center. This local investment complements JobsOhio’s $30 million investment to seed and scale the initiative.
The training center will focus on programming aligned with entry-level employment, including Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), contextualized manufacturing foundations, and lab skills. To deliver these modules, the facility will have simulated clean rooms, labs, classrooms, and meeting spaces designed to prepare students for in-demand operator roles in biopharma manufacturing. Training will be developed in partnership with industry to ensure graduates are workforce-ready on day one, noted the OLSA official.
“This investment reflects Ohio’s commitment to building a world-class life sciences workforce. By bringing partners together around shared priorities, we’re strengthening today’s industry and creating new opportunities for growth across the state,” said Eddie Pauline, president and CEO, OLSA.
