DDII UK Conference announces new panels on clinical trial design and early-stage funding
The Drug Discovery Innovators & Investors (DDII) UK Conference will take place at etc.venues Monument, London, on Wednesday 4 November. The conference brings together R&D leaders, lab managers, decision-makers from pharma and biotech companies, industry suppliers, researchers, start-ups, and investors to discuss key challenges in UK drug development.
Two new panels have been confirmed for the day.
Get It Done: Designing Faster, More Effective UK Clinical Trials will examine how technology, policy and infrastructure are enabling better clinical trials in the UK. Panellists will discuss the current strengths, barriers and opportunities for companies conducting clinical trials in the UK. Speakers include Janet Hemingway (Professor, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine) and Philippa Brown (Head of Development Operations, GSK), with additional speakers to be announced.
Where Is the Money? Funding Early-Stage UK Drug Development in a Difficult Market will take an honest look at where early-stage capital is actually flowing in the UK, and what founders can do when venture capital isn’t an option. The panel brings together Sam Goldsmith (Head of Venture Creation, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult), Ayokunmi Ajetunmobi (Head of Ventures, Pioneer Group) and Tanya Moore (Investment Principal, Cancer Research Horizons’ Ventures team).
As announced previously, Chris Molloy, CEO of the UK BioIndustry Association, will deliver the conference keynote.
The full-day conference will also feature interactive breakout workshops on topics such as AI in drug discovery, lab automation, spatial biology, and cell and gene therapy.
